From vines planted in 1999 on shallow Bündner slate soil, the 2018 Riesling shows an intense nose with a fascinating pure and flinty bouquet of crushed stones and lemon juice. Round and very elegant on the palate, this is a dry (since the 2013 vintage) and textured Riesling with great finesse and sustainably stimulating salinity on the long and impressive finish. The wine was aged on the full lees for one year, without any movements. The 2018 is a gorgeous Riesling that shows nothing of what you might have expected from this very warm and dry vintage. This is ripe, refined and enormously vital due to its great terroir. Tasted in March 2022.
